1:1 Leadership Coaching
Leadership Coaching helps you leverage your personal and professional wisdom and insight into to action so you can be a more effective leader to those you serve.
When you take your leadership to the next level, you enhance meaning for yourself and your team, making your work and workplace a source of fulfillment and joy.
What is Coaching and What Does it Accomplish?
We hire coaches to help our kids improve their test scores or achieve athletic excellence. We hire therapists to coach us through emotional hardship. Why not hire coaches to achieve meaning and excellence at work?
The truth is, everyone could use some kind of coach. When I partner with professionals in a coaching relationship, they are investing in themselves by making a focused effort to move from point A to point B on a goal, challenge, or opportunity in their professional journey, whether in how they lead themselves or in how they lead or serve others.
A coach provides the space, structure, time, and reflection needed to gain perspective, leverage your own wisdom, and progress on your path. This kind of coaching centers you as the source of knowledge and power, which renews your sense of agency, self-trust, and confidence.
Coaches:
Listen deeply and ask powerful questions
Are a steady, consistent presence creating space for reflection
Prioritize insight over instruction
Resist the temptation to solve every problem
Know that learning that’s discovered lasts longer than learning that’s delivered
Coaches help you:
Adhere to important life fundamentals
Set clear goals and hold yourself accountable
Compassionately pursue excellence
Stay encouraged and reflect on progress
Challenge yourself
“Who is Coaching For?”
Coaching could help you if:
You're at a significant transition point: starting a new career or job, or returning to work after an advanced degree or a period of at-home parenting.
You're in a status quo. Nothing is particularly wrong, but nothing is totally right. You're restless and wonder if there's something "more" to discover your professional life.
You aspire to be a better leader and more of a force for good in your workplace or community.
You want to incorporate more sustainability or balance into your life.
You're feeling "lost," or very focused on a goal and you're not sure what to do next.
You need short-term support making a tricky decision.
You're experiencing a particular challenge at work with a relationship, a change, or a project.
“What Outcomes Will I Experience?”
Gain clarity of strengths, values, and long- and short-term goals
Enhance skills to make values-based decisions across personal and professional domains
Ability to prioritize balance, work sustainably, leverage boundaries, and maintain focus
Increase self-awareness, personal agency, and accountability
Increase personal resilience and protect and build upon personal well-being
Gain the skills and insight necessary to more effectively lead and serve others
The Approach
When I coach, the client and I create intentional space to translate subconscious, disjointed, or new wisdom into coherent personal insight and action.
I use inquiry-based coaching and collaborative conversations to reflect on situations, accept accountability, and act in alignment with personal values. I also use values-based coaching, which uses the client's personal values to make decisions, prioritize actions, and identify contradictions or areas lacking congruence.
I am a thought partner and a catalyst, not a mentor or an advisor. Here's the difference:
Coaches: Focus on the client's internal potential via co-discovering strategies. Occasionally provide frameworks and tools (non-directive/asks).
Mentors: Share personal experience to guide the client on a path (semi-directive/shares).
Advisors: Provides specific solutions or instructions to the client (directive/tells).
“How Does It Work?”
A coaching engagement typically includes:
Free discovery conversation (30–45 min by phone or video call) to explore your goals and confirm we're a good fit.
Regular 1:1 sessions, typically 60 minutes every two to three weeks, by phone or Google Meet. In-person sessions
may be arranged once a relationship is established.
Between-session support: reflective prompts, book recommendations, self-management frameworks—offered only when they feel useful.
Email availability for brief check-ins and questions between sessions.
Engagement length varies. Some clients see me twice to make a specific near-term decision; others come for a
focused 2–3 month sprint; others work with me over a longer arc. Clients are never contractually obligated to
commit to a set number of sessions—each is scheduled and paid for individually.
